Introducing… CLAY

I know. What?!
Over the past year, my NEW home studio has been my personal art lab containing an experiment that has grown into something I’m pretty chuffed about: Hidden Hearth Ceramics.

What happens when you take Karin Bolstad art and smush it with clay and put it in a kiln? ART TILES!

Whidbey Delft is the first chapter — a love letter to the place I call home. Inspired by Dutch Delftware, it reimagines the blue-and-white tradition with slugs, Bruiser, deer eating my tulips (SUCH assholes!), cheeky bushtits, salmon hats and more — the flora and fauna of Whidbey Island.

Other collections are already quietly forming — vintage PNW ephemera, medieval animals, esoteric symbols, maybe even UFOs (because why not?). Each one will contain the same care, sustainability, and storytelling.

This holiday season, you’ll be able to find Hidden Hearth at the Cultus Bay Gardens Winter Market in Clinton WA on Friday, Saturday and Sunday 11/28, 29 and 30th and Saturday and Sunday 12/6 & 7. I’m super honored to be included, this is one of my favorite craft markets because Mary Fisher does such an amazing job curating beautiful things and the setting is incredible… winding road through the woods that leads to a beautiful garden at the bottom of Whidbey Island.

Save the date(s) and come see me and my new thing! eeeeeeh
