My new project: Hidden Hearth Ceramics

Tiny clay canvases, artfully fired and sustainably made.

Hidden Hearth Ceramics is my new small-batch tile studio, where I create hand-illustrated designs that are fired onto tile in small runs. Because my kiln is wee!

The Whidbey Delft Collection are 4X4 ceramic tiles created as a love letter to the wildlife of the Pacific Northwest, in the style of traditional Dutch Delftware.

How it’s made

Every tile begins as one of my original illustrations. The artwork is made into modern transfers that are applied by hand, and fired in my studio kiln to permanently fuse the image with the clay body.

I use Fireclay tile, which is sustainably made in Spokane, Washington. I’ve attached hanging hardware to each tile, and they can either be framed or unframed if you’d like it as an art object. They also can be incorporated into your home design as a backsplash to a sink or behind a stove or even for use in the floor.

In production! The Vintage Northwest Collection are 3X6 and 4X4 ceramic tiles embellished with and inspired by nostalgic Pacific Northwest imagery from antique PNW postcards, photos, and other intriguing ephemera.
Still in the design stage, launching Spring 2026.
